Search Plans and Tactics

 “How I Do It”

In this two-day workshop, Jacy Kelley, CNWI and former professional working dog handler, will show you how he planned and executed searches in the field while he was working his explosive detector dogs.

We will be searching all four K-9 Nose Work™ elements (containers, vehicles, interiors, and exteriors) and be shown tactics you can use to successfully navigate each. This workshop will be a great help for individuals preparing for competition at any level. Jacy will work at the level of each team (NW1, NW2, or NW3). The workshop is focused on handlers and dogs who are working on odor. (Note: if the workshop does not fill by January 1, we will open the workshop to handler/dog teams working on primary rewards.)

In this workshop you will have opportunity to work two elements each day with multiple searches in each element. You will also be asked to fill out a short survey to help Jacy tailor this work shop to the specific needs of the group on hand.  This will keep redundant information out of the workshop and allow for each person to have many learning opportunities with each search.  The workshop will be limited to 15 working slots each day and 10 auditing slots

Please note: This workshop will take place in multiple locations as we will be searching in "real world" locations throughout Douglasville, GA. Once we received your registration and payment, you will receive search location information.

All Working spots are filled. Only Auditing spots are now available

AUDITING:

  • There are 15 auditing spots available.
  • The cost to Audit will be $150 for both days.
